The questions many people ask me

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Therapeutic coaching is a form of coaching that integrates elements of therapy and coaching to help clients achieve personal growth faster and overcome mental health challenges with in-depth approach. It is carried out by a psychologist, therapist & coach.

It involves the use of evidence-based methods and modalities – cognitive behavioural therapy, coaching, mindfulness, positive and humanistic psychology, interpersonal neurobiology techniques to identify and address patterns of thought and behaviour that may be holding individuals back from achieving their goals.

Therapeutic coaching typically focuses on present and future-oriented solutions, rather than dwelling on the past. Expect a safe and very supportive environment to explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns to develop strategies to cope with personal & professional challenges.

The coach works collaboratively with clients to set goals and create an action plan that is tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. Through this process, clients are empowered to take control of their lives and work towards achieving their full potential.

Most common, major problems are solved through therapeutic coaching, such as:

–  Goal misalignment. Which might sound like this:
“I feel I am stuck. I’m not making progress towards my ambitious goals and need to refocus my actions and strategies to achieve them.”

Overwhelm and time management. Which often manifests itself in something like this:
“I have so many responsibilities and commitments that I’m struggling to be effective. I am tired and want to learn how to prioritise tasks and find balance in my life and work”.

Self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Which in practice sounds something like this:
“Despite my achievements, I doubt my abilities and worry that I’m incompetent. I want to gain more confidence in my abilities”.

Stress and burnout. It usually goes something like this:
“I am constantly pushing myself to the limit and feel overwhelmed by the demands of my ambitious career. I need to manage stress better and avoid burnout, but I still want to perform at a high level.

Leadership development.  This is often the case when people move into bigger, better roles, or scale (plan to scale) into a larger business. In sessions it can sound something like this:
“As I take on more leadership responsibilities, I realise that I am struggling with my leadership skills. I want to become a more effective leader and inspire my team to reach their full potential.

Communication and influence. It usually sounds like this:
“I struggle with communication anxiety. I find it difficult to communicate my ideas effectively, influence others / get buy-in for my ambitious projects / speak in public. I want to improve my communication skills to become a more persuasive and influential professional”.

Integrating work-life balance. Often manifests like this:
“I am committed to my career, but I also want to prioritise my personal life and well-being. I need to find a better work-life strategy that allows me to be successful in both”.

Decision-making and risk-taking. This comes in:
“I often find it challenging to make difficult decisions and take calculated risks, even when they could lead to significant opportunities. I want to develop a more confident and strategic approach to decision-making.

Build supportive social networks. Can sound like this:
“I recognise the importance of building strong professional / personal networks, but I struggle to make meaningful connections. I feel anxious in social situations. I do not want to speak in public, but I need help to expand and maintain my network”.

Career transition / promotion. In reality looks like this:
“I am considering a career transition or seeking a promotion, but I am unsure of the steps to take and how to position myself effectively. I am not sure what I really want”.

Life changes / moving abroad. The reality looks like this:
“I thought moving abroad would be easy, I have travelled a lot. But I am struggling to integrate & feel uncertain about my decision. Work seems like a lot, people struggle to understand me and I struggle to understand them, even when we are able to talk. I am struggling to get used to this culture”.

Love / relationship issues. I have helped people with these:
Persistent difficulties in finding a compatible, supportive partner;
Struggles to achieve a harmonious work-life balance;
Vulnerability issues;
Cycles of attracting unsupportive partners;
Inability to cope with the strain of work demands & relationships;
Rebuilding trust and creating a foundation of security in love life.

Choosing the right therapist or coach is a crucial decision for your mental health help and personal growth. Here are some tips to help you find the right one:

  1. When reviewing therapist/coach websites, take time to consider their areas of expertise. Make sure their services match your challenges.

  2. It is important to establish a good rapport and feel comfortable with your therapist or coach. Make an appointment to meet with them, either in person or virtually, and ask about their approach and experience. See if you feel a connection.

  3. Price or qualification doesn’t necessarily indicate quality of service. Trust your instincts and pay attention to your intuition about the therapeutic alliance. Do you feel respected, listened to and understood? Do you feel safe and supported? Can you express your thoughts and feelings without being judged?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions or express concerns. Your therapist or coach should be open to feedback and willing to work with you to develop a positive therapeutic relationship.

We definitely encourage to have an introduction call (free of charge) to discuss the situation and to see how we can help and support you best.

Otherwise, we made a comparison chart that can work as a roadmap to understand your current situation / needs.

It is important to assess your current state and the level of clarity you have regarding your current situation and goals.

Therapy & coaching provides the best of two worlds. So if you’re feeling:
stuck;
– overwhelmed;
– anxious;
tired of trying to do it yourself;
like to dig deep. but keep your focus on the present & future;
– time is important to you, you understand that mental health work with support will get you there faster;
then therapeutic coaching may be a good fit for you.

Therapeutic coaching is designed to help you gain insight into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and develop practical skills and strategies to help you overcome challenges and achieve your goals. If you’re looking for a supportive, collaborative, and goal-oriented approach to personal growth and healing – this is the place.
Let’s have a short conversation to find out.

In general, yes, everything you say during a therapeutic coaching session is confidential. However, there are some exceptions to this rule – e.g. if you are a danger to yourself or others, or if there is suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person or other dependent person.

As a therapist/coach I use a variety of methods to measure progress, depending on the client’s needs and goals. This may include tracking changes in mood, behaviour and thought patterns, setting and achieving specific goals, and regularly evaluating the effectiveness of our sessions and more. We will work together to establish clear objectives and regularly evaluate your progress towards those objectives, so that we can make any necessary adjustments to our approach to ensure your continued growth and success.

Ideally, when you feel you have achieved your goals or no longer need the services, we will have a discussion to evaluate your progress and decide on the next steps.
The process for ending our work together will be discussed and agreed during this meeting. It is important that you feel supported during this transition and we will work together to ensure that you have the resources you need to continue your progress.
